When I read about your wilderness camp, I was sitting here thinking of my own nephew who has mild autism. One of the smartest people I know, he isn't able to grasp fundamental daily activity such as properly showering or going to the bathroom. He went to a camp (although dissimilar in theme) that geared towards people with autism, but it was through various activities such as sports (golf, bowling, volleyball, and baseball) as well as staying in a residential setting so that the bonds he made were long-term. I commend your outfit for having camps geared towards this population. It's way more important than the majority of us give credit for.

Out of the camps you mentioned, I believe the best ones include the iD Tech Camp. Any camp that embosses a level of scholastic merit deserves praise. This is not downplaying the other camps you mentioned which includes sport (surfing) and outdoor adventures because these are essential parts to promote a child's development. The difference between those and camps that have an educational aspect to them stems from giving those children an acute advantage when the time comes for them to be in that situation for scholastic reasons. To have an edge up will further their education to a level that one may find in a parochial establishment and/or even the college level once he/she has grown to that point. In all, I am glad that these expanded choices are available for parents who want to send their child to a specific camp so they can have that time together. Overall a brilliant post. Thank you and have a good weekend.
